Privacy and Cookies

The English Wine Tasting Company is based in Colchester, Essex. We can be contacted via the website contact form or via email, emma@englishwinetasting.co.uk .  We may process “personal data”  and/or “special category data” (as defined in UK data protection legislation) as part of the contracted services and/or for administration.  All data are processed in accordance with the legislation.  Information is kept while it remains relevant to the reason for collection and/or if there is a statutory retention period.  All feasible security measures are in place. 


Data may be shared with third parties as part of the contracted services and/or with our partner organisations, for administrative purposes and/or if we are required by law to do so. This may be particularly pertinent where we are a recognised “agent” in the contract.  We cannot accept any liability for any processing conducted by any third party outside our remit.


As required by law, a cookie audit has been conducted on our website.  Cookies are internet files utilised by websites.  The website utilises these files for security and analytical purposes to help us monitor and improve the site by collating visit statistics.  The website utilises services from Google and Facebook – these systems place advertising cookies on your system through our website if you have accepted cookies through the “Cookie Bar”, but we have no control over their use of any data collated.  You are at liberty to disable these cookies through your browser, but this may impact on your use of our website too.  If you have not accepted cookies through the Cookie Bar, then no such cookies have been placed on your system. 


None of the above affects your rights under the legislation, in particular your right to access the data we may hold on you.  If you wish to request a copy of your data, please submit it in writing/email to the company.  Please include enough information to enable us to identify you and search for appropriate data.  We do not have a designated “Data Protection Officer” (DPO) as private companies with less than 250 employees are not required to do so.  
 

If you are dissatisfied with this policy, have queries about our data protection procedures or wish to lodge a complaint, please contact the company in the first instance.  Thereafter you have the right to submit a complaint to the Supervisory Authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO):
