The 1581 Fortified Wine comes from White Castle Vineyard in Wales. A deep ruby port-style wine with rich blackberry flavours. 
 
Hand harvested Regent grapes from the 2019 vintage were vinified and then spirit added to stop the fermentation, leaving residual sugar in the fortified wine. The wine was aged oak barrels for 3 years before being bottled, and hand sealed by the winemaker.
 
This wine will improve with age. We recommend decanting for at least an hour before drinking to get the best from it.
 
Suggested pairing: Hard cheeses or dark chocolate.
